What becomes a legend most? For Sophie Tucker, who was born to a Tsarist Russia, it was most definitely the live stage. The stage was her home. She fed off a live audience and it's what made her the sensation she was. Seeing her up close and personal was to get the very best of her. Though she appeared in films such as Broadway Melody of 1938, movies and TV were too restrictive to capture the true essence of Sophie Tucker. For well over five decades, she performed everywhere-- Broadway, vaudeville, cabaret, clubs and burlesque. Her next stop, the SCRC stage!
Playing Sophie Tucker will be Meredith Reed from Greenville, SC.

Rabbit Hole
by David Lindsay-Abaire
Directed by Tom Evans
Winner 2007 Pulitzer Prize
Rabbit Hole tells the story of Becca and Howie Corbett, a Westchester couple, who have everything a family could want until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves them drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back to the light of day. David Lindsay-Abaire’s poignantly powerful play gives remarkable insight to the human spirit using sharp dialogue that shifts seamlessly from hilarity to grief while maintaining an avoidance of sappy sentimentality.
